• Noble Rhyton x Nina Ricci

 

From time to time, Maplewood looks for something new to add to our program. We accomplish this through purchasing new lines, leasing outside mares or utilizing outside studs. With our maiden mare Nina Ricci MF we have waited thirteen years to incorporate her heritage in our program and decided to blend it with a bit of exotic.

Ricci is special in that she is one of the four daughters BOH Romance produced for us. Now, with the sudden loss of Romantykk, and years since Revlon has conceived – Ricci is our link to this important dam line for our farm. It is her strongest attributes we hope to breed on so we looked for a very similar stallion who might enhance these. We chose Noble Rhyton and the cross produced exactly what we had hoped for in the dark bay, very feminine filly Raishea.

Named after her great grand dam Gaishea, both a U.S. and Canadian National Champion Mare, this filly brings the highly coveted Gainey Dynasty into our mix. Gai Monarch’s talent under saddle was equivalent to that of his halter fame. Ricci’s sire, Hallelujah Bey //+ contributes the known qualities of the Huck lines, giving us our third generation of calm, level headed, useful and talented horses walking the isles of our barn. Ryton’s dam *Cesarzowa’s chisled head, fertility, and her ability to produce well with every sire presented to her – offers hope that we have a new treasure in her granddaughter.

Raishea is an exciting new tangent for our program. We are anxious to watch her mature and learn how to best optimize this new line.
