Maplewood's breeding program has always been rooted in strong Polish mare lines, and having now produced our fifth generation foal crop, we have the liberty to reach beyond the given and predictable traits we have strived for. These traits of athleticism, power, intelligence, soundness, correct and smooth physiques have been consistently achieved through the use and line-breeding of strong Polish foundation stock. We are now ready to diversify our herd with the use of modern outcross blood. For us, the idea of using outcross blood to create a “hybrid effect” brings to the surface the extremes that are both already present, as well as buried in both sides of these highly concentrated pedigrees. As a result, we have not lost the base we started with, we have simply amplified it!

In addition to the beautiful, soulful black eyes we most always achieve and the "looking through the bridle" ears - we wished to add flair and fire to the sensibility our horses tend to possess. Quite simply we wanted excitement. And where better to find that than through the line bred Fadjur horses of Jack Tone Ranch. Upon our first visit there, one mare after another was paraded out for our examination, and immediately underscored that we had come to the best source of the form-to-function hot spot for Arabian Fire. We knew that we had to have a Fadjur mare, and quickly secured the lease of Fadjurz Elite.

Her flamboyance at the trot leaves you with the impression the ground is on fire - her feet are always off the ground, and her beauty is remarkable. Add to this Erykk MF’s extreme elevation at the trot, and mental capacity for taking to Park training/showing, and the result is Elite in Love. Elite in Love is everything we had hoped to achieve and is the filly we had dreamed of creating. We have partnered with the Jack Tone ranch to extend this success. Two more foals are in the making with very similar bloodlines and we have agreed to continue to share our bloodlines going forward throughout the life of these new foals.
