In 2010, Maplewood will start off the year recognized as a Heritage Breeder in Arabian Horse World’s January edition. Mary Jane Parkinson has invited Maplewood to be honored with her story.

AVS Equine Veterinary Hospital showcased Erykk MF in a feature article they sent to all clients concerning the fine art of collecting and shipping transported semen. The success of this depends greatly on the management of  the stud’s live cover and careful coordination communicating with mare owners on shipment needs. Guy Benefield and Jeanne Johnson working in professional conjunction with AVS have achieved a 94% conception rate, covering 33 mares in 2008 & 2009.

Ashley Bibby has joined the Maplewood team with the grace and talent of an upcoming star. She assists in all manners with the farm management and training of the horses. Formerly with Joel Gangi, Ashley has shown to numerous national wins. She has now brought her skills to Maplewood with success at two shows already.  In September she showed Rockefeller MF to the highest score earned by a purebred in all Sport Horse Divisions and was the last person to ride Hallelujah Bey +// in his long show career spanning twenty years. He was retired after this handsome ride – he is 25 years old.

In early October, noted Polish photographer and equine artist make the trek to our remote Oregon farm. For three days he endured the coastal mist, which hampered his photography skills. He captured the spirit of the farm and the horses in spite of the obstacles. We look forward to his September ’09 return! Listed as an Arabian Foundation Stallion, ERYKK joins another Maplewood-bred stallion: GITAR MF. Twice Canadian National Reserve Champion Stallion, multi-Regional Champion Stallion, English Pleasure Champion as well as a sire of National winners in halter and performance, GITAR continues to bring recognition to the innate excellence of the Maplewood breeding program.

Maplewood is proud to have both ERYKK and GITAR recognized as Renai Foundation Stallions and looks forward with great optimism to their contribution to this developing equine endeavor.
