One of the most beneficial and enlightening breeding indicators is a success on the ground to prove a breeder's instincts. After crossing Erykk MF's bloodlines with a heavily bred Fadjur mare, Fadjurz Elite, we realized this success with the birth of their 2011 filly, Elite In Love. When Jack Tone Ranch extended the opportunity to repeat this effort in a slightly different package, we jumped!

Sombras De Fadjur is a paternal sister to Fadjurz Elite, and hits on every cylinder with regard to our demands of a worthy breeding mare. She is breathtaking to look at and exciting to watch - at the end of a lead rope her power, size and showy attitude causes your hair to stand on end. You find yourself gasping at what her next move might be; each step a photo in athletic, aristocratic beauty. Simply put, we want one of our own!

Sombra's dam line expands the depth of our bloodstock R'epertoire with lines crafted and coveted by the oldest continuous horse breeding family in the world. Julio Mendez's Argentine grandfather imported stock from Lady Wentworth, and infused into Sombra's dam line fine old foundation Polish stock. It was Fadjur who he chose to "jump" his program generations forward when he went searching for an outcross. We are also excited to see Sombra's pedigree trace to Indian Magic, as our family owned and showed an Indian Magic gelding nearly twenty years ago. He was one of our most beloved horses, and part of his long grey tail, tied with a red ribbon, still hangs in our office to remind us of the fond memories of a most kind horse.

With our established and trusted relationship with the Jack Tone Ranch, and multiple breedings to blend our herd's bloodlines in the works, this lease made complete sense. Now we wait in anticipation of our 2012 foal!
