Maplewood has been quietly breeding and showing Arabian horses on the Southern Oregon Coast since 1984. Our passion is creating talented show horses by utilizing predominantly Polish lines that enhance performance abilities. Breeding standards we set are based on extensive experience in the show ring. Maplewood has earned nine National Championships, numerous Top-Tens, Scottsdale and Buckeye wins, Korona Hi-Point Halter Mare (twice) plus countless Regional awards. We understand the demands of success and have collected bloodlines proven to produce the physical gifts and mental disposition worthy of the highest levels of achievement.
KNOWLEDGEABLE breeders have bought our bloodstock sight unseen based on pedigree and our reputation. We have shared some of our best with the world, including sales to Poland, Canada, Germany and Sweden. Subsequently, our horses have influenced German and South American breeding programs. Gitar MF, *Gitara, *Gotcha, *Erwina, *Era and Balagan have all graced our fields before leaving to earn national honors and recognition for new owners.
With Five generations of lineage under our belt, we can now cross the “Best of the Best” sons and daughters back on lines which complement the most desirable and consistent characteristics. Our latest stallion, Erykk MF is evidence of this predictability; his phenotype is exactly what his genotype dictates. He inherited the brilliance and athleticism of his sire Balagan and his dam *Era, who were both talented park horses; he is true to the gifted blood in his pedigree. Erykk’s foals have this motion stamped into their genes as expected.
With this passion we build upon our foundation, complement our bloodlines with occasional outcrosses and endeavor to make viable contributions to the breed. We cherish old friendships as well as the long-term relationships we have developed over the years with clients, trainers and fellow breeders. Together, we are committed stewards of the breed.
